Sand and fine dust abrasion. Saudi desert environments introduce fine silica particles into conveyor systems via wind and material handling. Fine dust abrasion is a significant cover wear mechanism even when the conveyed material itself is not highly abrasive. M24 and higher covers are recommended for outdoor Saudi installations.
UV degradation. Intense solar UV radiation at Saudi latitudes degrades rubber covers more rapidly than in temperate climates. Our outdoor belt covers include UV stabilizers as a standard inclusion for Middle East supply.
Long idle periods. Some Saudi industrial projects operate seasonally or have extended maintenance shutdowns. Belts stored or idling outdoors for 2β3 months in desert heat must not crack, harden, or develop surface ozone damage. Our cover compounds are ozone-resistant to ASTM D1149 standards.
