Drive pulley lagging provides the friction interface between the drive pulley and belt underside. Without lagging, a bare steel pulley cannot transmit sufficient drive force —?the belt slips, generating dangerous heat and potential fire. Elephant Rubber supplies both rubber lagging (for standard applications) and ceramic tile lagging (for wet, high-tension, or slip-critical applications).

500—?00mm diameter pulley: 10—?2mm rubber. 800—?,200mm: 12—?5mm rubber. >1,200mm: 15—?0mm rubber. Ceramic lagging: 15—?0mm total (rubber base + ceramic tile) for all diameters. Thicker lagging increases effective pulley diameter —?allow for this in belt tension calculations when re-lagging existing pulleys.
